Making a Difference, Working In Local Communities

Animal Alliance of Georgia booth at Gwinnett Pet Fest 2019
AAG is 100% volunteer run - 100% of donations go directly to our advocacy, education and outreach work.

Outreach is the heart of what we do. We believe that the vast majority of pet owners love their pets. We are honored to be able to work with owners to ensure that they have the resources to care for their companions to ensure long, healthy lives together.

At every event we host, we take the opportunity to build relationships with our clients. We believe the best way to change minds and hearts about issues like spay/neuter, tethering, and other care concerns is to meet our clients where they are - to respect them as people and community members, and to walk alongside them to serve their needs with their pets and to always be available with advice, support, and nonjudgmental assistance. We commit to our outreach communities over extended periods of time, returning on a regular basis, to help change the culture concerning pet ownership.

Outreach and Community Service

Outreach Communities

Picture
We currently serve communities in Gwinnett and Barrow Counties, through both low-cost vaccine clinics, outreach events, and access to subsidized spay/neuter services.

We have been pleased to partner with multiple municipal and nonprofit organizations, such as the Southeast Gwinnet Cooperative Ministry, Barrow Animal Control, Gwinnett Animal Welfare, Planned PETHood of Georgia, and Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, to multiply our efforts in communities. To date we have funded or helped fund thousands of vaccinations and hundreds of spay/neuter surgeries for our clients.

Low Cost Clinics

Picture
In order to reach underserved communities and raise funds for our free services, we hold periodic low-cost vaccine clinics. Clinics have been held in Grayson, Norcross, Winder, Snellville, Clarkston, Thomasville, and Lawrenceville.

We hope to expand future clinics into communities with limited access to these services.

Support for Pet Owners

Picture
We believe that the best way to keep pets out of the shelter is to keep them in their homes. Often, simple assistance can make the difference between a family being able to keep their pet and having to surrender it - things like advice on behavior and training, flea and tick medication, spay neuter assistance, help with placement of unwanted litters, and accessible veterinary care.

As part of our outreach mission, AAG can help with this assistance to keep families together.
